# Authentication

All API requests are authenticated with an **API key**.

## Get your API key

1. Go to [app.rubrichq.io](https://app.rubrichq.io)
2. Navigate to **Settings → API Keys**
3. Create a key and copy it (it's shown only once)

## Use it in requests

Pass the key as a bearer token in the `Authorization` header:

```bash
Authorization: Bearer <YOUR_API_KEY>
```

## Example

```bash
curl https://api.rubrichq.io/api/public/v1/calls \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer <YOUR_API_KEY>"
```

## Notes

* Each API key is scoped to a single workspace (client). Because of this,
  `client_id` is optional on every endpoint — omit it and the API uses the
  workspace your key belongs to.
* If a key is compromised, revoke it and create a new one from Settings → API Keys.
